A very early disaster film which details the demise of New York City after a solar eclipse causes a tidal wave to flood most of the world. Blackmer is the only survivor within the city; he swims upstate and meets Shannon, whom he believes to be the last woman left alive. Presuming his wife and child have perished, Blackmer romances Shannon and fights off a band of vicious scavengers led by Kohler. Eventually Blackmer's wife, Wilson, turns up very much alive. Shannon, seeing the couple reunited, swims off alone to meet her fate. Okay, but low-budget special effects were used from countless Republic Studios serials and features. leave a comment
