Porno for poets. Despite ads touting this upscale skin flick as "Anais Nin's DELTA OF VENUS," it has precious little to do with Nin's best-selling collection of arty erotica. Directed by soft-core entrepreneur Zalman King, it's virtually indistinguishable from his
"tasteful" cable-to-video sex films, notably the
Red Shoe Diaries series produced for Showtime. Stars Costas Mandylor and Audie England are easy to look at -- with or without clothing -- but ceaseless gropings, groanings and simulated couplings, no matter how elegantly shot, are poor substitutes
for plot and character.
