Seedy melodrama starring Signoret as an Antwerp barfly who is very popular with the local male customers. She lives with the brutal bouncer of the bar, Dalio, who treats her badly. Hers is a grim life until the captain of a freighter, Pagliero, offers to take her away with him when he ships out. She accepts, but her dreams are shattered when Dalio kills the skipper. Signoret gets her revenge on her tormenter with the help of bar owner Blier when they finally rid themselves of the brutish Dalio. (In French; English subtitles.) leave a comment
