Critics were divided about this remake of 1929's JEALOUSY with Fredric March and Jeanne Eagels. The story could have served Verdi or Wagner as a libretto. Davis is a music teacher who meets Henreid after the war. She'd believed he was dead and when they meet again, she realizes how much she loves this musical genius whose instrument is the cello.
