Produced for Polish television as part of DECALOGUE, a series of ten films each based on the Ten Commandments, this is the original version of what director Krzysztof Kieslowski released theatrically in a longer, somewhat different version as A SHORT FILM ABOUT LOVE (1988).
Nineteen-year-old Tomek (Olaf Lubaszenko) works at the post office. At night, he peers through a telescope at Magda (Grazyna Szapolowska), an older woman who enjoys a succession of casual lovers. Infatuated, Tomek invents other ways to get closer to her without her knowledge. After one such trick
