Almost a total waste of everyone's time, including the audience. The only reason to see this is to sit back and listen to Jimmy Haskell's score, with your eyes closed. Locke and Camp are lesbians who arrive at Cassel's very fancy home in a San Francisco suburb. Cassel has just celebrated his 40th birthday, and those birthdays with zeroes at the end of them can be depressing so he invites the comely wenches into his house. It is pouring and thundering out there and they seek shelter from the storm. Cassel's wife and children are away, and he is feeling lonesome. The two playful women seduce Cassel, and a menage a trois begins. It would have been swell if it was all fun and games and they left in the morning. But no, these women have a sadistic streak. They tie him up, ruin his gorgeous house, paint their bodies with makeup, drown poor Kalmansohn, who was just a delivery boy minding his own business, and make Cassel's life miserable as they threaten him on and off for what seems like forever. In the end, they are killed when hit by a truck from the anticruelty society. Now if that don't beat all! Locke had some success as Eastwood's costar in several films, but she was never as good as he must have thought she was. Cassel, a favorite of Cassavetes, received an Oscar nomination once, but he'd be wise to omit this film from his resume. leave a comment
