DEADLY POSSESSION takes place at a conservatory and begins with the murder of a student named Anna. A fellow student, Penny Cook, arrives as Anna is being put into an ambulance but doesn't appear to be too upset about her neighbor's imminent demise. However, when Cook's ex-husband is charged with the murder, she begins her own investigation. Her ex was seen running from the scene of the crime, but in fact he was there only because he saw Anna pushed from her window and came to aid her. When he reached the dying young woman, he found an unusual key in her hand. Cook later notices a similar key in the possession of one of the instructors (Arna-Maria Winchester) at the conservatory. Writer-director Craig Lahiff's script is awful, his direction is nonexistent, and the viewer is left with the impression that the maker of DEADLY POSSESSION has stayed up too many nights watching PSYCHO without ever twigging Hitchcock's intent. Lahiff lacks perspective, and as a result, has made an empty, lifeless chop-'em-up film. To put it kindly, the acting in DEADLY POSSESSION is undistinguished. leave a comment
