This weak thriller copies the styles of 1940 crime novels without any feel for the genre. Los Angeles detective Brent Huff gets pulled into a whirlpool of love, deceit, and danger. In the Bahamas on assignment, he meets Ingrid Boulting, a wealthy, alluring Beverly Hills woman who resists his advances, giving her husband's recent death as an excuse. He persists, however, and follows her back to the States, where the two become lovers. Huff learns Boulting is falling prey to a greedy business manager, Eric Flynn, who is trying to cheat her out of her dead husband's estate. DEADLY PASSION fails to achieve anything but the most cliched passion, relying more on flesh than fantasy. Billed as "South Africa's First Adult Film," it is little more than a second-rate soft-core film that is buried beneath a mountain of generic ideas. leave a comment
