This thriller revolves around a standard-issue madman who uses the threat of product tampering in an extortion plot. John Doe (Joe Paradise) is a maintenance man for Gotham University who lives in the bowels of the school's administration building. The university owns a dairy and in a call to the school's president (William F.X. Klein), Doe threatens to contaminate hundreds of containers of the company's product unless he gets $1 million. To show he's not bluffing, he places an ice cream container injected with rat poison in a cooler of a dorm convenience store. There's little of quality in this straight-to-video thriller. Far too much of the movie is devoted to struggles in barely lit surroundings. It's damn near impossible to sustain a high level of tension for periods as long as director-writer Jeno Hodi shoots for here, and a little more dialog and plot exposition would have helped make the moments of danger more effective. leave a comment
