Prolific independent filmmaker Larry Cohen (IT'S ALIVE, Q, THE STUFF) snuck yet another film into distribution, although this film played only briefly in New York before heading for the video shelves. Cohen continued his reexamination of crime film genres begun with BLACK CAESAR (1973)
adding a touch of grim humor. Billy Dee Williams stars as a charming rogue of a detective who has a reputation for leaving a trail of corpses behind during his investigations. Willing to do just about anything for money, Williams accepts $25,000 from Hallahan, a client who wants his wife murdered.
