Tricky sequel that brings back one of the first film's protagonists, L.A. homicide detective Sam Dietz (Leo Rossi). This time out, Dietz tracks another serial killer, and encounters difficulty from a FBI agent, Kyle Valsone (Ray Sharkey), who's also been assigned to the case. As he
probes the killings, Dietz discovers a common thread: all the victims had been reported as dead prior to their murder. This fact leads him to suspect that they are linked to a witness protection program. His efforts in this direction are hampered by Valsone, who systematically frustrates his
investigation, until he begins to suspect that the FBI man knows more than he's letting on.
DEAD ON offers enough plot twists to keep viewers guessing, while its cast makes a fine effort to enliven even the most predictable sequences. (Violence, nudity, adult situations.) leave a comment
