Days Of Glory

Gregory Peck, in his first motion picture performance (after having been seen on the Broadway stage by producer Casey Robinson), stars here as Vladimir, the leader of a Soviet resistance group fighting the Germans during WW II. Caught behind enemy lines is Nina (Tamara Toumanova), a famous dancer who eventually falls in love with Vladimir. Producer Robinson had hoped to achieve a sense of realism and, to that end, cast performers who were unknown to movie audiences, including Peck and Toumanova (the latter a prima ballerina with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo).
