Grammenos is arrested for the assassination of a Greek politician in 1936. Protesting his innocence, he is visited by Kyritsis, whom he manages to lock in the cell with him. Then he threatens to kill the hostage if the police do not release him. The situation drags on for days while the
government tries to come up with a solution. Finally they hire a sniper to take up a position on a nearby roof and shoot the man in his cell. Excellent political drama based on a true story, superbly photographed and thoughtfully directed.
