The first film detailing the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ since Cecil B. DeMille's KING OF KINGS (1927). The resulting production is handsomely mounted with decent sets and costumes complemented by fine color camerawork by Ray June. Cobb is good as the leader of the Zealots, and
Dru is fine as Mary Magdalene. As Christ, Wilson does a good job of looking saintly and noble in this production that abounds with dignity and restraint.
