Day Of Reckoning

Grim prison picture featuring Dix as a man sent to a sky-scraping Los Angeles hoosegow for embezzling his employer's profits. Dix was driven to the act by his venal and shrewish wife, Evans, who immediately takes up with big shot businessman Tearle. Unfortunately, Tearle's former mistress goes into a jealous rage, kills Evans, and Tearle takes the rap and ends up in the same jail as Dix. Dix catches up to the man he believes killed his wife and before you know it, Tearle takes a nosedive off the roof of the prison and is killed. A surprisingly vicious programmer churned out at Culver City in two weeks to help keep release schedules filled.
