This tedious, unnecessary reworking of John Ford's masterpiece, THE SEARCHERS, sees peaceful neighbor Kennedy joining forces with cold-blooded ex-gunslinger Ford in a search for his wife and children, who have been kidnaped by Apaches. Accompanied by eccentric trader and scout Jagger, the
men encounter Indian raids, bandits, and torture until slowly (and predictably) Kennedy becomes the cold-blooded killer and Ford the voice-of-reason. Eventually they find Ford's wife and kids and return home, where Kennedy challenges Ford to a deadly gunfight. This was originally made for ABC-TV,
but the studio opted for the theaters instead.
