Calhoun plays a gunfighter who got his reputation (shown in flashback) by gunning down the evil Ferris family (Homeier, Van Cleef, Andrews, and Garland) of New Mexico singlehandedly. After the gunfight, Calhoun hangs up his guns and meets young beauty Laurie, who has been kicked out of her home by her stern and repressive father. Eventually, she drifts into becoming a dance-hall girl in a saloon run by the sleazy crook Brian. Calhoun decides she deserves better, so he tries to win the girl and the saloon in a card game, but loses. Thinking Calhoun a danger to his authority, Brian and his hired gun Nicol attempt to murder him in the streets of Socorro, but he kills them instead. A decent, fast-paced western with a strong supporting cast. leave a comment
