Calhoun plays a gunfighter who got his reputation (shown in flashback) by gunning down the evil Ferris family (Homeier, Van Cleef, Andrews, and Garland) of New Mexico singlehandedly. After the gunfight, Calhoun hangs up his guns and meets young beauty Laurie, who has been kicked out of her home by her stern and repressive father.
