A strange, poetic tragedy written by Jean Cocteau and shot on location in the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara. Story concerns Cardi, the unwanted daughter of a tribal chief, who falls in love with the unattainable son of a sheik. When the sheik dies, he leaves his son the throne.
