Dante's Peak

Set in and around a little resort town called Dante's Peak -- the sort of neighborly place where the mayor (Linda Hamilton) also owns and operates the local coffee bar -- this extremely educational disaster movie teaches the following lessons: 1) Kids and old ladies are a pain in the butt, always doing stupid things that require more sensible people to rescue them. 2) When a handsome devil like Pierce Brosnan says something terrible is going to happen, the fat guy who counsels "waiting and seeing" must be ignored. 3) It doesn't pay to be the first woman loved by a cocky daredevil with a few lessons to learn about humility -- death in the prologue is almost g...
