Esther Williams and Fernando Lamas were married to other people when they were brought together to make DANGEROUS WHEN WET; would that the film had been as enduring as their subsequent real-life marriage. Williams plays Katy Higgins, a member of a swimming family (the others are Charlotte Greenwood, Donna Corcoran, Barbara Whiting, and William Demarest) who decide to swim free-style across the English Channel en masse after producer Windy Webbe (Jack Carson) convinces them they can make some serious money doing so.
