A backstage story about a vaudeville actor, Nugent, who introduces Knapp to show business. They split soon after they marry. Tough trooper Busch helps Knapp by introducing her to cabaret owner Dinehart, who helps her financially through motherhood, and Nugent shows up after the birth of their child for a happy ending.
