This exciting war story is based on two books about the RAF's destruction of the Ruhr dams that supplied industrial Germany with the power to run huge factories in WW II. Scientist Barnes N. Wallis (Michael Redgrave) comes up with an idea of how to demolish the German war machine. The
dams are built in such a fashion that they could not be done in by the bombs of 1943, but Wallis conceives of a bomb that would be delivered low, skip along the water like a stone, and hit the dams in the middle. He tests his theory with golf and Ping-Pong balls, but no one can be certain of the
