Cinematic version of the legend of the Dalton Gang. Crawford, Donlevy, Erwin, and Albertson are the four brothers who turn to a life of crime after being run off their land by insensitive railroad people. Although being criminals was not their original intention, it becomes the only course after one of the boys accidentally kills a villainous land-grabber.
