A group of strangers are thrown together in a struggle for survival when they are attacked by Indians. In the group are Robertson, a bank robber, Darnell, a loose lady of the West; Lund, a bank clerk (all fleeing the law for a crime Robertson committed); Bond, a loudmouthed politician;
Toomey, a drunken minstrel man; and Bissell, the easterner who thinks he's found gold. One by one they get killed off by the Indians or by thirst, until only Robertson and Darnell are left. Cinematographer Haller won an Oscar for his lighting in GONE WITH THE WIND.
