Fascinating Filipino vampire film has Garcia returning to the family estate after many years. There he finds his father has imprisoned his mother in the basement because she is a vampire. Garcia goes to the cellar to visit her and she bites him, turning him into a vampire. He then goes to his fiancee and vampirizes her. The father, learning what has happened, kills his wife. He in turn is killed by Garcia. Meanwhile, the fiance of Garcia's sister (Fuentes) is killed in an accident and shortly afterward Fuentes is turned into a vampire by her brother. Villagers descend upon the mansion, and while watching Fuentes change into a vampire they see the ghost of her lover appear and pray beside her bed. A crucifix appears floating above the bed; then it turns and plunges through her heart. The villagers set the house on fire while the ghost of Fuentes and the ghost of her lover walk through the fields of heaven. One of the best of the usually wretched Filipino horrors, this film is an incredible amalgam of Hollywood mythology, native superstition, and Catholic dogma.
