Writers of thrillers often seem to think that their stories must be politically profound, but in most cases their works are undercut by the gross oversimplification of their political analysis. This Moore showcase is no exception. Moore pursues a mysterious girl, though he only has one
clue to guide him--a portrait that bears her name. The chase takes him to a birthday celebration for an African statesman. An assassination attempt by a crazed group of anarchists is foiled by the alert Moore. Although it features lots of lookers, comedy, and action, taken as a whole, CROSSPLOT is
pretty disappointing.
