This is almost a 75-minute Greyhound commercial, a sort of GRAND HOTEL via bus with lots of footage of Chicago, the Mormon Tabernacle, a carnival, and lots of other picturesque Americana. The slim plot has a two-timing husband who plans to do away with his wife. He succeeds in what is perhaps the greatest middle-class murder in cinema. In the middle of a department store, husband grabs a bow and arrow and sends the latter into the torso of his wife. However, a wise hero doesn't buy the common belief that the jealous mistress did the deed, and is able to pin the rap on the marksman murderer. Seemingly unintentionally, this picture becomes a black comedy about middle-America's killers--the kind who use a bus as a getaway car! leave a comment
