There are worse fates than dying in a plane crash, the lesson learned by survivors of a mid-air catastrophe in this cheesy horror flick. Stewardess Mia (Heidi Noelle Lenhart) and her flight crew have no inkling about the dangerous riffraff on their passenger list. Bank robbers Sol (Jon Sklaroff), Max (Darryl Theirse), Peter (Billy Rieck) and Squid (James Parks) are fresh from a bloody hold-up and will brook no interference when it comes to their successful escape. When a tropical storm pummels Flight 211, Sol's band refuses to allow the pilot to alter the plane's course. Following the inevitable deadly crash, Mia, fellow stewardess Julie (Anna Cranage), the pilot (Dan Martin) and two passengers find themselves stranded in a Mexican swamp with the brutal criminals. After shooting a passenger whose injuries would have slowed them down, the bank robbers force their captives to carry the stolen loot. Fortunately, Mia's boyfriend, Zach (Chuck Walczak), learns of the air disaster and hires a tracker named Roland (Martin Kove) to find his lady love. Meanwhile, the felons lower their guard after shooting a hungry crocodile, blissfully unaware that the dead reptile has an even bigger companion. The croco-monster picks off the swamp travelers one by one until Roland and Zach show up on the scene. Forced to bow to Roland's hunting expertise, the crooks hole up in an abandoned factory, but the crocodile manages to get in for a few quick snacks. Whether the rapidly dwindling band of survivors make it out alive depends on whether or not Roland succumbs to the temptation to throw in his lot with the robbers. This crunch-and-munch creature spectacular is essentially a slasher picture with the croc standing in for Jason or Freddy Krueger, tarted up with plot devices lifted from the heist- and disaster-picture genres.
