The Crimson Circle: Review

This sloppily edited film, based on Edgar Wallace's blackmail novel, was tightened by 15 minutes shortly after its release. The movie concerns the head of an extortion ring and his attempts to outwit Scotland Yard by becoming an amateur private eye and mingling with the big boys. As much attention is devoted to the criminal's scheming as to the Yard's thwarted attempts to catch him, but most of the situations are highly implausible, something unusual in a Wallace story.
