Crime Takes A Holiday

1938, Movie, NR, 59 mins

Less-than-shining crime picture which coincided with the Dewey-Lehman New York race for governor. The parallels were then timely, but are now long forgotten. Holt, a tough-as-can-be district attorney who rarely loses a case, is urged into the political arena. To gain political advantage, he knowingly pins a rap on an innocent man to pry out a mobster's guilt. Holt's performance is outstanding, though technically the film isn't up to his level. leave a comment
