A medical crime tale dealing with mercy killing, this story revolves around a doctor, Bromberg, who suffers a debilitating accident. He begs his young protege, Kent, to give him an overdose of an opiate to end his suffering. Kent falls in love with Bromberg's wife, after which Bromberg dies of an overdose, Kent is accused of murder, and a suspenseful trial ensues.
