Crest Of The Wave

Based on the play "Seagulls Over Sorrento" by Hugh Hastings, which ran three years in London but only a few weeks on Broadway, this film gives Kelly a chance to act without singing or dancing. The story is about a group of sailors stationed off the northeast coast of Britain who are engaged in highly dangerous research work on a new torpedo. Kelly plays a US scientist called in when British scientists are killed in a test. Bringing in two more Americans causes some feuding between the British and Americans. Both drama and comedy result from these situations.
