In the wake of the sensation caused by Brigitte Bardot in AND GOD CREATED WOMAN, a number of her earlier films found their way to US shores. This is certainly one of the least memorable of that group, with a feeble plot in which village idiot Bourvil inherits an inn on the condition that
he get his grammar school diploma. It's a chance for him to do a number of slapstick scenes while foiling greedy cousin Bardot and winning Marken.
