Crashing Las Vegas: Review

After an electrical shock, Hall discovers that he can predict numbers. He goes on a TV game show and wins a trip to Las Vegas for the whole Bowery Boys gang. When he starts winning big at roulette, gangsters take interest and after convincing Hall that he has killed a man, blackmail him into turning over all his winnings. The rest of the boys, of course, come to the rescue. The boys make their 41st appearance since their debut as "The Dead End Kids" in DEAD END, and they are definitely showing their ages. When CRASHING LAS VEGAS was released, Hall was 36 years old, Gorcey 38. In addition, Gorcey had started drinking heavily after the death of his father in a car crash and is visibly drunk in a number of scenes in this film. It was to be his last "Bowery Boys" film, though the series would limp along for seven more films over the next two years, when it would finally die a long-overdue death. leave a comment
