Cracking Up

1977, Movie, R, 69 mins

The title of this poor attempt at humor refers to California as it has finally suffered the big earthquake, causing it to slide into the ocean. Filled with members of the Ace Trucking Company, Firesign Theater, and Second City comedy troops, the cast attempts to enact the events as viewed by a TV news crew. Proctor, as TV reporter Walter Concrete, interviews victims and loots on the side, and Bergman, in drag, plays the role of newscaster Barbara Halters. A bright point is music by the Tubes. leave a comment
