Poor, beset Bennett is a widow raising seven children. Six are dedicated to making her life miserable, and only the youngest (Janney) sides with his mother. He saves them all, though, by befriending a miserly old lady who leaves him $50,000 when she dies. Sentimental, but not intolerably
so. Remade in 1938 as MY BILL. DeHaven, who played Reginald Colbrook, is the brother of actress Gloria DeHaven.
