A children's film about Crawford, alienated from his widower father (Bryant), raising a foal into a fine horse. Boy and horse survive a number of minor crises, then Bryant's carelessness seriously injures the horse and it looks as if Black Beauty will have to be destroyed. A miraculous
recovery followed by a reconciliation between father and son concludes this simplistic film. Songs include: "Black Beauty" (Alperson, Herrick) and "The Donkey Game Song" (Alperson, Hughes, Stapley).
