With her husband, John, Hubley created some imaginative award-winning works of animation. Although John died in 1977, Hubley has continued working in the field and in 1986 released her first solo feature. THE COSMIC EYE is essentially a free-form narrative loosely telling the story of three musicians (jazz greats Gillespie, Atkinson, and Hubley) as they voyage through the outer reaches of space. Looking in on Mother Earth (voiced by Stapleton), the three observe the planet's evolution from the dawn of time through the current jumble of modern society.
