Blake is a loser from the Deep South. Rampling, doing her best to disguise her British accent with a cornpone overlay, is his wife. He's selfish, arrogant, biased, and annoying. She is patient and long-suffering. Together, they make for as unattractive a couple as could be found on any screen.
