Coogan's Bluff: Review

Released three years before Dirty Harry, this was the first joint effort by star Clint Eastwood and director Don Siegel and was also attacked for what was considered its excessive sex and violence. By today's standards, it's pretty mild stuff. The story is basically an urban update of a classic Western myth — Eastwood plays an Arizona deputy who comes to the Big Apple to bring back killer Don Stroud — and served as the basis for McCloud.
