Consolation Marriage

This film is about two people who are drowning their sorrows at a bar, meet, and decide to get married as they have both been jilted by their respective lovers. O'Brien is a sports reporter with the right combination of brashness and sentiment, and Dunne, in her first starring role, is properly vulnerable. Loy is O'Brien's former lady and when the blonde comes back from having traveled the world and wants the relative comfort of being married to O'Brien, Irene and Pat's vows take on a new significance.
