Early docu-drama detailing the history of flight from cave-man days through the first third of the century. Olivier plays an early-day balloonist. H.G. Wells worked on an early draft of the screenplay. Produced in 1935, financial difficulties shelved the picture for five years. Finally released in 1940, it was then cut by several minutes with a warning to exhibitors not to bill it as a vehicle for its stars, as they make only minor appearances. leave a comment
