A lightweight but most enjoyable comedy-mystery, COMPROMISING POSITIONS concerns a bevy of wealthy Long Island wives and their involvement in a murder. When periodontist Joe Mantegna is found murdered, Susan Sarandon, a wife, mother, and one of the victim's patients, investigates the crime on her own, with an eye toward selling the story to the editor of the newspaper she used to work for. Looking deeper into her periodontist's life, she learns that he was married to Anne De Salvo and played around a great deal.
