The subculture of serious comic book lovers is ripe to be mined for stories that combine pathos and comedy, but so far it's inspired only misfires like this one. Grieving Mrs. Cresswell (Eileen Brennan) us besieged by collectors after the death of her couch-potato son, all desperate to acquire his trove of rare comic books. Hoping to score freebies for himself, one slimy customer, Conan (Danny Masterson), has spilled the beans about the Cresswell collection and pitted the town's two comic book shops against each other.
