While fishing in Mexico, down-on-his-luck wanderer Hayden falls for the shapely Baxter after spying her on a beach. When she tries to convince Hayden to aid her in killing her overbearing husband, Hoyt, Hayden refuses but remains attracted. After discovering his wife's infidelity, Hoyt pretends to blow himself up, hoping the police will think it the work of Baxter and her lover. When shifty private eye White clears Baxter with the officials, he quickly turns around and tries to blackmail Baxter, threatening to expose her affair with Hayden.
