Having left his family years earlier because of drinking and wild living, a much calmer Cochran returns to his wife Sheridan and their Arkansas farm. Anxious to prove himself not only to Sheridan but to his mute daughter and never-seen baby boy as well, Cochran commits himself to putting the delapidated farm in order.
