The Color Of Pomegranates

1972, Movie, NR, 75 mins

starstarstarstar
This surreal, symbolic film about the life of the 18th-century Armenian poet Sayat Nova is filled with religious and animal imagery. It is also almost totally incomprehensible. Director Paradzhanov made the film in 1969 and was subsequently exiled to Siberia. Well worth seeing, if only as a visual treat. leave a comment
