Cocoon: The Return

This sequel to 1985's hugely successful COCOON picks up five years later, as the first film's elderly couples (Brimley and Stapleton, Cronyn and Tandy, Ameche and Verdon) return to Earth with the alien Antareans to check up on their families and friends. Back home, the old folks have a chance to exhibit their vigor, the men engaging in a game of basketball and the women heading off to try on the latest fashions and undergo makeovers at health spas. Subplots abound, including one involving some nasty government efforts to experiment on one of the Antareans' cocoons.
