C'Mon, Let's Live A Little

1967, Movie, NR, 84 mins

In this silly 1960s campus drama, pop singer Vee is a backwoods folksinger who wins a scholarship to a small college after saving the dean's daughter, DeShannon, from a car accident. When the local radical, Ireland, Jr., uses him as a way to get the students to attend his free speech rally, Vee punches the troublemaker in the nose and lets the kindly dean tell the student body that they don't need any of those silly ideas about freedom. The low-grade pop tunes can't help this bargain-basement look at youthful ideals. Songs: "C'mon, Let's Live A Little," "Instant Girl," "Baker Man," "What Fool This Mortal Be," "Tonight's the Night," "For Granted," "Back-Talk," "Over and Over," "Let's Go Go," and "Way Back Home" (Don Crawford). leave a comment
